RVAPB "I Voted" Sticker Design Contest

Overview

In preparation for People’s Budget Voting in April, RVAPB is inviting ALL Richmond residents to design the official "I Voted" sticker for this year’s Participatory Budgeting process! In true PB spirit, the winning design will be chosen by the community and will be handed out to voters during the PB voting period. This is a fun and creative way to celebrate civic engagement and get excited about shaping Richmond’s future!

📍 Open to all Richmond residents—any age, any skill level!

Submission Guidelines

Designs must say “I Voted” and include some reference to RVAPB or Richmond
Digital or hand-drawn designs are welcome (hand-drawn designs must be scanned or photographed clearly)
Submit your design by February 28, 2025 via the Sticker Design Contest Form email to info@rvapb.org

Selection Process 📢

Top designs will be selected by the PB team and put up for a community vote from March 7 - March 10, 2025. The winning design will be printed as official PB voting stickers and distributed in April!

Rules and Other Legal Stuff

Eligibility
- Open to all Richmond residents of any age and skill level.
- Designs must be original and created by the person submitting the entry.

Submission Requirements
The design must include “I Voted” and reference RVAPB or Richmond in some way.

‍
Designs must not contain:
- Copyrighted or trademarked images, logos, or text.
- Offensive, inappropriate, or discriminatory content.

‍
Both digital and hand-drawn designs are allowed (hand-drawn designs must be scanned or photographed clearly).

Rights & Usage
By submitting a design, the artist certifies that they own all rights to the design and any assets used (fonts, illustrations, etc.).
The artist grants the City of Richmond permission to use the submitted design solely for the purpose of printing and distributing during the RVAPB 2024-2025 voting cycle.

The City of Richmond will not claim ownership of the design beyond this purpose, nor use it for any commercial gain.

Selection Process
- The PB team will select finalists (remove any ineligible submissions), and the community will vote on the winning design.
- The winning sticker will be printed and distributed during PB voting in April 2025.

Contestant entry clause - all participants will automatically agree to the statement below
"By submitting this design, I confirm that I am the sole creator and rights holder of the submitted work and that it does not contain any copyrighted or trademarked elements. I grant the City of Richmond permission to use my design solely for the purpose of printing and distributing as part of the RVAPB 2024-2025 voting cycle. I understand that I will retain ownership of my design beyond this specified usage."
