Improving pedestrian safety at Hamilton & Monument
This project will add a pedestrian crossing light and ADA-accessible curb ramps at Hamilton & Monument, improving safety for those using the pedestrian overpass and exit ramp entrance.

PB Staff met with Traffic Operations in the Department of Public Works to help define and discuss the scope of the selected project.
10/07/2025RVAPB staff met with the Department of Public Works (DPW) to discuss ADA accessibility requirements at the overpass/exit ramp location. In addition, DPW needs to assess with the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) involving bridge restoration projects coming up in the future.
